How do I save a Facebook Reel when all I have is the share link from the app?

Open the reel in the Facebook app, tap Share, then Copy link. Paste that link into the box on VidBake's Facebook page and hit Download. A result card appears with a thumbnail; keep the quality on Highest (auto) and click MP4 to get the original file with no logo. Both facebook.com/share/r/... and facebook.com/reel/... links work, as long as the reel is public. No login, no app to install, no download limit.
Getting the Reel link from the Facebook app
Almost every Reel link you run into is one of two forms: facebook.com/share/r/... or facebook.com/reel/.... The share/r form is the short link Facebook generates when you tap Share in the mobile app; the reel form is the full address you see when opening a reel in a browser or on a computer. Both point to the same reel and VidBake treats them the same, so paste whichever one you have, no editing needed. The site also accepts facebook.com/share/v/..., facebook.com/watch?v=..., .../videos/... and fb.watch/... for regular videos; those are covered in the guide on how to download Facebook videos.
- Open the Facebook app and scroll to the reel you want, letting it play.
- Tap the Share button (the arrow icon) on the right edge or just below the reel.
- Choose Copy link. You now have a facebook.com/share/r/... link on your clipboard.
- Open your browser, go to vidbake.com/facebook, paste the link into the box and tap Download. Pasting the whole share text around the link is fine too; the site picks the link out by itself.
Saving Reels on iPhone straight to Photos
- Open Safari, go to vidbake.com/facebook, paste the copied link and tap Download.
- Wait for the result card with the reel's thumbnail. Leave the quality on Highest (auto) or pick a lower option if you want a smaller file.
- Tap MP4. For a short reel, iOS shows the share sheet right away; tap Save Video and the reel lands in your Photos app, ready to watch offline.
- If the file is heavy (over roughly 80MB, rare for Reels), Safari puts it in Downloads inside the Files app. Open that file, tap Share, then Save Video to move it into Photos.
- Safari downloads nothing at all? Go to Settings, choose Safari, then Downloads, set it to On My iPhone and tap MP4 again.
Saving Reels on Android and computers
- Android: open Chrome, go to vidbake.com/facebook, paste the link, tap Download, then MP4. The file sits in your phone's Download folder; find it in the Files app or Chrome's Downloads list.
- Windows or Mac (Chrome, Edge, Firefox): same steps. The file goes to your Downloads folder, named VidBake.com_<title>.mp4 so it is easy to find later.
- Want a different quality? Click the quality option in the result card before MP4; the site lists every version Facebook provides for that reel.
- Saving several reels: paste the next link into the box and click Download. There is no limit on how many you download.
Common errors when downloading Reels and what to do
- Reel set to private or friends only: the site says it is unavailable. VidBake can only fetch public content and there is no workaround. If the reel is yours, switch its audience to Public and paste again.
- Reel posted in a private group: also unavailable, because only group members can view it and Facebook's servers will not serve the video to anyone else.
- A share/r link someone sent you comes back unavailable: the original reel has usually been hidden, deleted or made private after they shared it. Open the link in a private browser tab; if Facebook itself shows nothing, VidBake cannot download it either.
- You click MP4 and the download crawls or hangs: the site automatically fetches a fresh link and tries other servers and qualities, up to 4 times. If it still fails, it opens the video in a new tab with instructions to press and hold to save. More in the guide on slow or stuck downloads.
- iCloud Private Relay on iPhone, Opera's data saver or any VPN: these can block downloads from the video servers. Turn them off for this site or switch to Chrome, the same trick used when downloading TikTok videos on iPhone.
- You left the result card open for hours before clicking: the video server link has expired. The site fetches a new one by itself; just click MP4 once more.
FAQ
What is the difference between facebook.com/share/r/... and facebook.com/reel/... links?
Nothing in terms of content. share/r is the short link created when you tap Share in the mobile app, while reel is the full address you see in a browser. VidBake accepts both, and either one gives you the same reel with the same quality options.
Can't I just use the Save video button inside the Facebook app?
Not for the same result. The Save button only files the reel under Saved in your account; watching it again still means opening Facebook with a connection, and if the reel is deleted, your saved entry goes empty too. Downloading through VidBake gives you a real MP4 file in Photos or your Downloads folder that you can watch offline, send in a chat or drop into another video.
Does the downloaded reel have a Facebook logo on it?
No. The file is the original MP4 served by Facebook, with no logo or watermark added. Sharpness depends on whether Facebook offers an HD or SD version of that reel; the site always tries the highest one first.
Do I need to log in to Facebook or create a VidBake account?
Neither. You only paste a public link, your browser downloads straight from Facebook's servers, and VidBake never stores your video. Reels that are private, friends-only or inside a private group simply come back as unavailable, with no other route.
